Sapna Nagar, MD

"My mission is to provide personalized care, education and support to patients and their families in order to make the entire surgical experience as comfortable and easy as possible." 


Dr. Nagar is an Assistant Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and the newest Associate at Royal Oak Surgical.  She has been in practice since 2014.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan graduating with honors.  She attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and was inducted into the AOA Honor Society.  She then completed surgical training at William Beaumont Hospital.  Dr. Nagar went on to complete further fellowship training at the University of Chicago in endocrine surgery.  She is a candidate member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons.  Her areas of expertise include endocrine surgical procedures including surgical removal of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.  Additionally, she performs general surgical and laparoscopic procedures.  Dr. Nagar is dedicated to ensuring that her patients feel empowered and engaged in their disease processes and treatment plans.  

Julie Koffron, MD, FACS

Dr. Koffron is an Assistant Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She has been a member of the faculty at Beaumont, Royal Oak and Associate at Royal Oak Surgical since 2005.  She completed her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Michigan graduating with honors.  Prior to beginning her surgical career, Dr. Koffron completed residency training at William Beaumont Hospital leading to board certification in Emergency Medicine.  Recognizing her true calling, Dr. Koffron then completed surgical residency training at Beaumont.  Following six year residency training in general surgery, she completed advanced fellowship training in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery at the University of Pisa, Italy. With exposure to all aspects of hepatobiliary intervention including pancreas and liver transplantation during her training, her expertise includes the surgical treatment of benign and malignant disease of the pancreas, liver, bile duct and gallbladder,  including advanced procedures, such as portal vein resection, minimally invasive liver resection, minimally invasive tumor ablation, and laparoscopic pancreatic, gastric and splenic procedures.  Dr. Koffron also performs many general surgical and endoscopic procedures, including PEG tube placement.  Dr. Koffron takes pride in providing quality care and utilizes a multi-disciplinary team-based approach.

Kevin Krause, MD, FACS


Dr. Krause has been an associate at Royal Oak Surgical and on staff at Beaumont Hospital since 2001.  He is an Assistant Professor of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.  He is also the Director of Bariatric Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Beaumont, Royal Oak.  He attended the University of Notre Dame.  He then completed his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine and was a member of the AOA Honor Society.  Dr. Krause then finished a residency in surgery at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the The Ohio State University.  He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He serves as a consultant to train surgeons in advanced laparoscopic techniques.  He was named one Hour Detroit Magazine's Top Docs in 2014.  He and his team provide specialty education, resources and services in the areas of advanced laparoscopic surgery with a focus on bariatric surgery.  


Peter Czako, MD, FACS

Dr. Czako has been a part of Royal Oak Surgical and on staff at Beaumont, Royal Oak since 1993.  He is the Surgical Director of North Tower Operating Room Services and Associate Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Michigan and attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine.  He completed residency in surgery at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and then returned to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery.  There he trained under Professor Norman W. Thompson, one of the pioneers of endocrine surgery, recognizing it as a subspecialty of General Surgery.  He is an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and has served as president of the Detroit Surgical Association and Detroit Academy of Surgery.  He has been named one of Hour Detroit Magazine's Top Docs for the last 10 years and Best Doctors of America for the last two years.  His passion is to provide quality counsel and care for patients who require surgical intervention for their thyroid, parathyroid or adrenal gland diseases while still maintaining an active practice in General Surgery. 

Robert Jury, MD, FACS

Dr. Jury is the System Leader of Digestive Health Center of Excellence and Associate Professor of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.  He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine.  He is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Wayne State University School of Medicine.  He completed residency training in surgery at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and went on to fellowship at Fukuoka University in Fukuoka, Japan.  He was a founding partner of Royal Oak Surgical Associates and has been in this practice since 1985.  He has consistently been named one of Hour Detroit Magazine's Top Docs.  He and his team are committed to providing a team approach to your care acting as your advocate.
